Choosing to quit smoking and using any type of tobacco product will improve your health status and enhances quality of life, reduces the risk of premature death and can add as much as 10 years to life expectancy. Quitting also reduces the risk for many adverse health effects, including impotence in men, heart disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and many cancers.
All tobacco products contain nicotine, including cigarettes, non-combusted cigarettes (commonly referred to as “heat-not-burn tobacco products” or “heated tobacco products”), cigars, smokeless tobacco (such as dip, snuff, snus, and chewing tobacco), hookah tobacco, and most e-cigarettes (vaping devices). Nicotine is why tobacco products are addictive.
Sign up here to join us for resources and activities as we prepare for No Menthol Sunday (NMS). NMS offers a great opportunity for people who smoke to begin a new quit journey.
