Youth Empowerment in Action: The SOL Project at NAN Youth Huddle
On Saturday, May 17, The SOL Project proudly presented “Behind the Puff: The Real Truth About Vaping” at the 2025 NAN Youth Huddle event held at Genesis Church in South Sacramento. This engaging session attracted over 40 enthusiastic youth participants, ranging from elementary to high school students, along with 30 supportive parents.
The event featured dynamic student-led panel discussions focusing on the “Foundations of Leadership” and “Conflict Resolution,” providing attendees with valuable insights and practical skills. Adding to the vibrant atmosphere, the Fortune Marching Band delivered an energetic musical performance that resonated with the audience.
A poignant video testimony from a mother and entrepreneur highlighted the personal journey of overcoming youth smoking and the challenges of quitting, emphasizing the importance of early prevention and support.
Participants received informative handouts detailing the health risks of vaping for children, along with contact information for Kick It California, offering free assistance to those seeking to quit vaping or smoking.
Engaging activities included a poster session where students expressed their thoughts and experiences related to the dangers of vaping. The event concluded with a raffle, awarding four lucky students with Chipotle gift certificates, adding an element of fun to the educational experience.
The SOL Project remains committed to empowering youth and families with the knowledge and resources necessary to make informed decisions about their health and well-being.
